Interludium

2009-2019

Interludium (Interlude) is a visual research into exhibition spaces and museums. Can we see the museum as a metaphor for photography itself? The archive currently consists of more of 100 photographs of museum interiors, exhibition spaces, interiors of new and historical buildings in Belgium, made with a large format analogue camera or with a digital camera.
This series focuses onto the time and the space between two exhibitions when the area is closed for the public. The pieces of art have been removed so that the photographed objects are taking in their places as if they are the art themselves. By the strong emphasis onto composition and balanced colors the photographs receive a strong autonomic character and turn into tableaux.

6 works were exhibited in Bozar, Center for fine Arts, Brussels in the groupexhibition ‘Beyond the document’, 2011
