A Painter's House
Karin Borghouts' recent book of photographs, A Painter's House, portrays the house of the painter Marten Melsen. He was a friend of James Ensor, who called him le beau peintre des paysans. Around the First World War, famous writers, composers and artists came to visit this house, which has been untouched since 1947.
The artist's studio at Stabroek (North of Belgium) can be visited on Open Monumentendag, 10 September 2023. Reservations required. The book A Painter's House can be viewed and purchased here.
The book (35 Euro) or a special edition with a print can also be ordered from Karin's webshop.
