Vincent was here

"Karin Borghouts has her own highly personal take on Van Gogh's work. Going beyond the thorough knowledge of his oeuvre, she has visited the places where he lived and worked. That is where she took the photographs that evoke Van Gogh's work but whose original compositions and use of colour are also marked by a powerful style that is emphatically her own." Sjraar van Heugten, art historian and curator, former head of Collections at the Van Gogh Museum.

This is the third Vincent was here exhibition, which is different each time and adapted to the specific space. There are 24 photos on display. This exhibition is part of the AntwerpPhoto Festival that runs until the end of September in the nearby Pilotage Building (near MAS). A walk has been mapped out to participating photo galleries and FOMU in Antwerp.

The photography book Vincent was here is a publication of Gallery Ronny Van de Velde and available in Rossaert, in the AntwerpPhoto shop and online.
