KU Leuven 600 years
2023-2025
KU Leuven will celebrate its 600th anniversary in 2025. Karin Borghouts has been commissioned to photograph the university's buildings, interiors and collections. Behind the scenes, the preparations for this unique anniversary are in full swing. In 2025, the oldest university in Belgium will look back on a rich past with a series of publications, exhibitions, lectures, conferences and other cultural events. Karin Borghouts will be able to portray the university's many iconic buildings as well as special interiors, auditoriums, laboratories and various university collections scattered across the various campuses. The assignment has started in April 2023. The photographs will be published in a book with texts by Liesbet Nys, to be published by Hannibal Books 15 February 2025. Exhibitions will follow from 10 October 2025 to 22 February 2026 in Museum M and the University Library.
