KU Leuven 600 years
2023-2025
In 2025, KU Leuven will celebrate its 600th anniversary. Belgium's oldest university looks back on a rich past with a series of publications, exhibitions, lectures, conferences and other cultural events. Karin Borghouts was commissioned to photograph the university's buildings, interiors and collections. The assignment started in April 2023. Karin Borghouts photographed 60 iconic buildings of the university, including special interiors, auditoriums, laboratories and various university collections spread across the different campuses. The photographs have been published in a book with texts by Liesbet Nys, published by Hannibal Books. Book launch on 30/1/2025 at BAC ART LAB.
Photographs by Borghouts will be included in two exhibitions from 10 October 2025 to 22 February 2026, at Museum M and the University Library of Leuven.
