Kerk Ruisbroek - Sint-Pieters-Leeuw

2024

The long-awaited renovation work has begun. It will transform the Ruisbroek church in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw for the future. This was a unique moment to photograph the empty church in order to preserve it for the future.

Karin Borghouts is no stranger to photographing churches. In 2014, she photographed all 46 parish churches in Ghent on behalf of STAM. In 2018, there was the commission and exhibition 'Ruysdael and Saenredam' at the Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar. In 2023 she created a photo essay for the Vlaams Bouwmeester, which was published in the book Herscheppen.
