  • Art after Death: Post Mortem

    October 16 - December 20, 2015. Friday, saturday and sunday 10 am - 6 pm.

In the exhibition Post Mortem the dead body is shown from the perspective of both science and contemporary art. The exhibition walks the line between fascination and repulsion, but above all it wants to offer an experience of raw beauty. More of 25 international
contemporary artists exhibit in the setting of the former Forensic Medicine department’s authentic nineteenth-century autopsy rooms and libraries. KASK lectures, films and performances make Post Mortem a diverse cultural-scientific event.

Objects from the university collections and works of art created especially for this exhibition by Berlinde De Bruyckere, Jan Fabre, Eleanor Crook, Chantal Pollier, Karin Borghouts and many other artists. Special events and guided tours will be organised.

With two new photos of Karin Borghouts, series “Rigor Mortis”, in the last former autopsy hall.
